Homan Square is the community development on the site of the
original Sears, Roebuck and Co. world headquarters in the North
Lawndale neighborhood on Chicago's West Side.
Starting in the late 1980's, the former Sears properties have been
renovated in partnership with the City of Chicago and neighborhood
residents to serve new purposes including housing and a community
center.
The latest project involves converting the Power House that once
powered,heated and cooled the entire complex into the Charles H. Shaw
Technology and Learning Center, home to Henry Ford Power House Charter
High School.
